NCP junior Elia Ton-That made history during the girl's IHSA state track meet on Friday, becoming the first Northside athlete to bring home an individual state championship in track and field. In one of the best races in recent memory, Elia outdistanced Ava Parekh of The Latin School 4:58.11 to 4:58.43 to take first place in the 1600m.
Elia becomes only the third individual state champion in NCP history, joining Nicole Roc who won the girl's 1A tennis championship in 2018, and Nathan Speer who won the boy's 1A championship in 2019.
