NCP will be following the rules and regulations set forth by the City of Chicago’s Emergency Travel Order and is asking all school personnel to enforce and remind sports staff and families of these regulations in advance of spring break. When planning spring break travel and the subsequent return to sports, sports staff, students, and their families need to be reminded of the following guidelines listed and linked below:
Domestic Travel:
- Families, students, and sports staff who are traveling to yellow states (moderate-risk) do NOT need to quarantine upon return to Chicago and can resume sports activities immediately.
- Families, students, and sports staff who are traveling to orange states (higher-risk) are REQUIRED to quarantine for 10 days upon their return to Chicago or MUST provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to returning to Chicago before resuming sports activities.
- Adults who have been fully vaccinated (2 weeks following the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 regimen OR 2 weeks following the receipt of one dose in a single-dose COVID-19 regimen) do NOT have to quarantine or provide a negative Covid-19 test upon their return to Chicago.
International Travel:
Families, students, and sports staff
MUST quarantine for 7 days AND take a COVID-19 test within 3-5 days upon returning from international travel. Families, students, and ports staff who do not take a Covid-19 test upon their return to Chicago MUST quarantine for 10 days. This is regardless of vaccination status per CDC.
